What is Nutritional Medicine?
“We are what we eat” is a very popular quote, and I’d like to change that into “We are what we absorb”.
Your health is determined by what nutrients (vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and fats) your body is able to absorb and utilize. Many food products contain poor levels of quality nutrients, which is due to processing, storage and ultimately soil quality.
Nutrients are involved in the creation of every molecule and the maintenance of every system in the body. Your body requires more than 45 nutrients to maintain health. Many vitamins and minerals also act as coenzymes in promoting essential chemical reactions.
When a body becomes ill, nutritional medicine is required to replenish the deficiency with higher, therapeutic doses. Prescribed by a qualified practitioner, these higher doses are very safe.
Wise Words
Live your life each day, as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point.
